The pool deck area is very exposed to the elements. The western side has no shade cover at all, so a shade solution was required to protect the patrons, particularly on the busy carnival days. Given the pool deck is elevated, the western side is susceptible to wind that comes up the valley. A wind rated umbrella solution was required. Skyspan Typhoon umbrellas were selected as these are wind rated at 148 km/hr and are installed in the permanently open position, offering waterproof weather protection in all weather conditions.
