The upstairs entertaining deck was very open to sun and wind. A wind rated umbrellas solution was requested by the client. A weatherproof umbrella solution was required for Whalebridge, a french bistro and bar at Circular Quay. Protecting the patrons from the sun and rain was critical for Whalebridge. Link panels were installed between umbrellas, protecting the area from rain, so the restaurant patrons can enjoy their meal under the protection of the umbrellas.
The pool deck area is very exposed to the elements. The western side has no shade cover at all, so a shade solution was required to protect the patrons, particularly on the busy carnival days. Given the pool deck is elevated, the western side is susceptible to wind that comes up the valley. A wind…
