The upstairs entertaining deck was very open to sun and wind. A wind rated umbrellas solution was requested by the client. Typhoon umbrellas are wind rated to 148 km/hr and are ideal for this high wind deck area. Permanently installed, the Typhoon umbrella offer waterproof sun and rain protection, in all wind conditions.
Nestled next to Sydney harbour, this pool deck is very exposed to the sun on those hot summer days. Shade for the residents is important around this pool deck. The area is also susceptible to very extreme weather conditions in the harbour, so the residents wanted a retractable umbrella solution.
Shade sails were required over the children’s play area to provide sun protection for the children. The outdoor restaurant eating area also needed some weather protection, so umbrellas were installed over the dining tables.
The UNITY DUO is a cantilever rotating umbrella, where 2 canopies can be opened from the same mast. This provides double the shade coverage. Up to four canopies can be installed on the same mast.

Link panels were installed between umbrellas, protecting the area from rain, so the restaurant patrons can enjoy their meal under the protection of the umbrellas.
